On Thursday morning a short trip was made with the research vessel Mya. Professor Karsten Reise (AWI Wadden Sea Station Sylt) explained recent regional changes in the Wadden Sea ecosystem. The guests were then taken on a guided tour in the research institute which has been completely renewed three years ago. In the afternoon the 'walking' sand dunes on the northern part of the island were visited. On Friday a trilateral meeting took place to discuss the content of a special issue on the trilateral Wadden Sea Region of the journal Ocean and Coastal Management. This issue will appear mid-2012. Next to the board of the Waddenacademie and professor Karsten Reise, this meeting was attended by professor Morten Pejrup (University of Copenhagen), emeritus professor Wim Wolff (University of Groningen), dr. Tim van Oijen and secretary to the board Klaas Deen.
