Information for Registration for the Saline Futures Conference

Registration is closed now!


The Saline Futures Conference will take place from 10 till 13 September in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
Be aware: The scientific conference is on 10 and 11 September. Farmer café meetings are on 11 September. Excursions are planned on 12 and 13 September.


Standard fee for the scientific conference is € 150,-
Student fee € 20,- (for students and PhD researchers under 30)
SalFar Partner € 0,- (for member of SalFar organisations on our list)


Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September field visits are planned to Texel (Salt Farm Foundation and NIOZ Seaweed Research Center), Terschelling (Sailing trip on the Wadden Sea, staying overnight and visit Zilte Smaak, € 100,-) and Emden (Ökowerk Emden in Germany). There are 5 excursions in total, you can select one or two excursions in the registration form. Read more about the excursions and combination options.

Participation and student fee covers:

    Conference Package
    Conference dinner on Wednesday
    Lunches and refreshments
Fees do not include: Hotel accommodation, transport to and in Leeuwarden, excursions.


After completing the registration you can pay by Pay Pall, credit card or Ideal. Your booking is only valid after completing the payment. You will receive a confirmation of your registration by e-mail.

Terms and conditions

Changes and Cancelation Policy
Only written changes or cancellations are possible. A change or cancellation will be communicated in writing to the organisation in time (which means before the dates below) by mail to:
Refunds only take place when a participant can not transfer his participation to another person and has canceled it in time:

  • Cancellations before 31 July, registration payment will be fully refunded
  • Cancellations after 1 August 2019 registration payment will not be refunded.

The organisation is not responsible for any costs incurred by participants in any of these cases.

VISA Application and Official Acceptance Letter

We strongly advise participants requiring a visa and/or other travel documentation to enter The Netherlands, to make their application in their home countries at least two months before the intended date of travel. If an official invitation letter for VISA application and an acceptance letter for the Conference, is required by the institution of the participant, it can be requested by sending an e-mail request to

Force Majeure

Participants shall not be entitled to any compensation should political or economic circumstances or a case of force majeure (such as natural catastrophes, wars, revolutions, acts of terrorism, etc.) prevent the Saline Futures Conference from being held or limit its size or modify its nature.
In the unlikely event of congress cancellation by the organisers, the congress registration payments will be refunded in full.
The organisers do not accept any liability for the cost of any pre-booked travel tickets or accommodation. Tip: book a travel- and cancelation insurance.
