An assessment of present day and future sea level rise at the Dutch coast

Report on request of the Programme towards a Rich Wadden Sea to compile a brief guidance document to reveal some outstanding topics concerning measured and projected sea level rise, in order to provide professional governmental policy makers with improved understanding of the scientific background of these topics. The Waddenacademy has assigned Deltares staff member Bart van den Hurk to compile this report.

The report addresses three main substantive questions: Is sea level rise accelerating along the Dutch coast? Is there a discrepancy between the KNMI sea level scenarios and the observations along the Dutch coast? How should we interpret the extreme sea level scenarios?

Report in English with an extensive Dutch summary.
