Wadden Sea Day 2026

The Wadden Sea Day 2026, titled "On the importance of area-based protection for the comprehensive conservation of the Wadden Sea: present and future role of protected areas", reflects on over a century of conservation efforts, drawing out key successes and lessons learned to inform a clear and strategic vision for the future of effective and resilient Wadden Sea conservation.
The annual Wadden Sea Day has been jointly organised by the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat and the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park Authority since 2006 and serves as an exchange forum among the international scientific Wadden Sea community.
