Pavel Kabat new director of IIASA

Prof. dr. Pavel Kabat will become the new director of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) ( www.iiasa.ac.at).  He will  start in this new international and highly prestigious position in Laxenburg, Austria  on 1st February 2012. His appointment is for an initial period of three years with a possibility of extension for another 3 years.  

Pavel Kabat has been founding Chair of the Board and the Director  of the Waddenacademie-KNAW. (www.waddenacademie.knaw.nl) since January 2008. Pavel Kabat remains in this position till 1st August 2012. From then on, he remains Board member of the Waddenacademie with the portfolio Climate and Water till 1st January 2015.

Pavel Kabat will be officially on leave from Wageningen for a period of maximum 6 years. During this period he will remain Professor at Wageningen UR /  ESS CC group and the supervisor of more than 25 of his PhD students.
